Four years ago, we hosted our very first Share the Mic event, with the sole purpose of using our voices to give back to the community. Since then, we’ve raised over $6000 for non-profit organizations in Des Moines, something we are so proud of. On February 21, East High School will be hosting their very first Share the Mic, and this time, we decided to give back to one of our own.
2 weeks ago, one of our founding members, Miss Mia, found out her father was finally getting his new heart. She and her beautiful family have endured this incredible challenge with sheer grace, and 100% of the proceeds from February’s show will be presented to them, in honor of Mia, her father, Cindy, and all of the other families who work so hard to build each other up.
