Huge shout-out to DSM Magazine for featuring the students of Urban Leadership 101 in their July/August Issue. Students teamed up with local photography duo INEZ to send a message. Click here to see what they had to say!
Today was the final day of Minorities on the Move. And wow, what a way to end. Thank you to our fierce teachers who gave us new chances to build, love, and grow each day. Thank you to our youth mentors for taking the knowledge you’ve gained and giving it to our incredible new young people. And most importantly, thank you to all of the youth who had the courage to show up each day. Your stories are important. YOU are important. We can’t wait to grow this movement, this family, even more next year. Much love!
We believe in the power of youth educating youth, and this Monday, a dream will become a reality. 12 incredible youth + 6 fierce educators will teach “Minorities on the Move” to 150 incoming 9th graders in Des Moines Public Schools! They will spend 10 days traveling, reading, writing, creating, and discussing issues surrounding minority history on Drake University’s campus. Send some energetic reciprocity to some of the brightest young people we know!
